The Brief:
BMW 320is came to us following the engine being buzzed after missing a gear on change down and valve and piston contact. Car required full engine strip down, diagnosis of damage and repair and rebuild.
What we did:
Engine removed and full engine strip down carried out. 8 bent exhaust valves diagnosed, full rebuild recommended as bottom ends do not last long after such contact has taken place.
Crank polished, con rods polished, new shells fitted, pistons pocketed, new rings fitted. M3 EVO sport oil pump fitted, new timing chain, E46 M3 tensioner, all new sprockets and pads for timing chain fitted, new exhaust valves fitted following head check, new uprated valve springs fitted, schrick cams refitted, new plugs oil and filter, new clutch and lightweight (4.25kgs) flywheel fitted. New propshaft guibo, centre bearing fitted, eccentric M3 wishbone bushed fitted, new bushes in gear linkage fitted.
Injectors cleaned and tested prior to refitting.
Changed rear wheel bearings all new fluids in engine and gearbox.
